Story: 1970s Bollywood drama starring Rajesh Khanna. Having grown up performing alongside elephants in order to earn enough money to stay alive, orphan Raju (Khanna) eventually finds some success and opens up his own zoo with a variety of animals that he considers his friends. When he falls in love with Tanu (Tanuja) the two marry, but after she gives birth, his wife becomes worried that the animals could injure their child and Raju is forced to choose between his family and his friends. When the couple split, Raju's favourite elephant tries to reunite them with tragic consequences.
